I know my FUB Brethren are some smart fellows so thought I would try to capture some of the wisdom for the group and for FUB community members to come...plus I'm just plain interested :)
So here's my thinking....we have all learnt valuable life lessons along the way and it would be great if you could post a brief snapshot, or overview or story or just plain learning here as a way to share with others.
So here's one of mine.
To quote a Beatles song...When I was younger so much younger than today...I used to believe all of my successes were because of me and all of my failures were because of someone else :)
I'm not sure if being married helps point out your weaknesses and those times when you've failed or perhaps its the person you're married too (if they are honest with you...)
...but I've slowly begun to realize that I need to own my failures just as much as I own my successes.
If I fail then although others may be involved but ultimately I either let it happen or caused it to happen.
And whether or not you can agree with that point - taking ownership for your successes and failures mean you are taking control of all elements of your life.
When we own our failures too, were are reconfirming that no one else has control over us, all that happens in our lives we allow to happen - the good and the bad.
Sure there can be bad luck and good luck - but this particular 'pearl' isn't about luck - its about what we succeed and fail to do and what we succeed and fail to achieve and the mistakes we make along the way.
What is the #1 lesson you have picked up along the way? (or at least the first one that comes to mind?)
Os
