I’ve Been Disappointed with Facebook Before.
But Now…


I’ve made no bones about my disappointment with Facebook, having written a bestselling book about Facebook ads. (I think it’s the best selling book on the topic. If not, it’s #2.) You may have heard my gripes that only 10% of business could make it work.

Well now that 10% is more like 30% and there are a LOT of business that can now advertise on Facebook very profitably.
In fact for the typical local business (i.e. restaurant, yoga studio, church), Facebook is now THE fastest way to get a whole bunch of people walking in the door.

  • Coaches are using Facebook ads to get butts in seats in hotel ballrooms and selling $1,000 to $20,000 memberships.
  • Info Marketers are getting cold traffic onto webinars and Google hangouts at very affordable acquisition cost, and selling real stuff to real people
  • Lead Generation pros are acquiring leads at 70-90% lower cost than search engines and banner ads

The good news is, you don’t have to be an entertainer, an artist, a rock band or wine and cheese party to make this work. When I developed the IsFBforMe.com tool, I was specifically addressing the fact that Facebook is NOT for everybody. If you didn’t sell escapism or entertainment, it probably wasn’t going to work.
However that has changed. Facebook ads are still not for everyone, but the number is now approaching half. It’s not for just a tiny minority anymore.

You don’t have to be a circus entertainer or drama queen to make this work, either. In fact it may help if you’re not. This morning I talked to a long-respected copywriter who’s been creating ad campaigns for 34 years. He doesn’t want to socialize. (I’m not sure he even likes people all that much. Especially on wet Wednesdays in November.)
He doesn’t want to LIKE and TWEET and COMMENT and schmooze. He wants to insert quarters in the slot machine, pull the crank and scoop the money off the floor.
Marketing is putting $1 in and getting $2 out. And that is what we are teaching here.
