Matt Ridley PhD - Nature via Nurture
It seems like many people in the community have been asking for this for a long time, after reading The Red Queen.
This audiobook is read by the author, a journalist with a PhD in Zoology (thesis = mating habits of pheasant) with good connections and an interest in economics and banking, who is married to a member of the neuroscience faculty at the University of Newcastle.
This book focuses on such disciplines as genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry and later psychology and human behaviour.
If Ridley is an "expert" in any field of biology it is IMO ethology, not genetics. mol bio nor bioc. To call a science writer an "expert" (as I have seen people in this commnity do) in these disciplines is I think an insult to the practicing scientists who devote their lives to producing the results from which can form his admittedly humble opinions. We (Ridley included) would be nowhere in our understanding without their work.
