I've been practicing speed-reading now for a few weeks and although I experience minor improvements in my ability to read faster, my comprehension suffers when I do so. If I really want to get the message, I have to read at a certain pace and it doesn't matter if I have less eye fixations, or increase my vision field as I am bound to my speed to comprehend the material it seems.
Everybody keeps talking about eliminating sub-vocalization but is this really possible and how does it affect the comprehension?
I will stop practicing speed-reading because in my opinion, it's a waste of time. But I'm eager to her your experiences with it.
PS: I used 7 Speed Reading software for daily practice.
