For one reason or another, I was recently led either consciously or unconsciously, or subconsciously, or non-consciously, to start going through Dan's brief presentation called "Moving Money Up the Pyramid" - It was a presentation he did at the GKIC Info-Marketing Summit in 2011, the same summit where we had the "shocking" not-family-friendly "Evening with Frank Kern," where he tastelessly showed the audience a picture of his giant cock-

Anyway, I've only gone through the first DVD, which is about an 1 hour 40 minutes, and I got quite a few potent takeaways already, so I wanted to share some and recommend the course for anyone here who is a budding info-marketer, because what Dan had to share was actually rather daunting, and I'm sure the information he imparted to the audience probably scared some people away from pursuing the info business- (Keep reading though- There IS hope!)
A few things that Dan starts to point out are really salient and relevant for all of us here in 2013 and beyond- Dan starts off with a brief history lesson of the info marketing business and really "MODEL," and makes the astute observation and point that up to 10, 15, and 20 years ago, marketers who sold from the stage, platform what have you, did so with the purpose of bringing in a shiPload of cash from that seminar- I personally have been to several seminars where this happened, many of them real estate related, where the speaker was able to get the unsuspecting suspects to whip out their credit cards and bang them for $5000 faster than they could say "But aren't you going to buy me dinner?"
And there was nothing wrong with that, at least if you were giving $5000 worth of value- But Dan is now explaining to us that that model doesn't work anymore, for a couple of reasons- Number 1, yes the ailing and flailing economy has been a factor- As Dan says, before the giant tanking in 2008, money was running uphill to get into info-marketers' pockets- It was almost effortless- So that has been a factor, that everybody's wallet appears to be magically and magnetically fused to each persons right buttock for some reason (Now that was my example and phrase, fairly clever...)
But the second and really more profound reason why this model doesn't work anymore, is that people just simply DON'T WANT TO DO ANY WORK! They want absolute, 100% DIFY! (Done it for you...) Dan talks about the "good old days," even referring to the 1970's and 1980's (ah back when the women were free and the cocaine was cheap...or was it the other way around?) Sorry anyway Dan's point was that back in those days, when a speaker sold an 8 CASSETTE TAPE course to the audience, he/she (although it was usually he) would insist that the audience listen to the tapes at least 5 times all the way through, in order to really digest and assimilate the information, which Dan said people were willing to do, at least those who actually took the wrapping off the tapes!
Today, however, it is a whole different ball game- Nobody wants to do anything (proper English, hard to tell...) Nobody wants to do nothing...nobody wants to do a thing...You get the point- People want it all to be done for them now- Dan talks about in another course somewhere about how back in the day, he could sell people a treasure map to their fortune, and that is all they wanted- They would take the map, and go out and stake their claim- Then as times progressed, they wanted the map, but then they also wanted Dan (and all the other "teachers") to sell them the map, and also the ore cart, the horse, the pick-axe, and the shovel- THEN things progressed (or should we say DIGRESSED) to the point where Dan, and the other "instructors," had to encompass a promise and guarantee that not only would Dan sell them the map, and the tools (i.e. mine cart, horse, pick-axe, etc.), but that Dan himself would also, in the process, somehow go out there with them and actually do the digging, the mining, the prospecting with them, no actually, make that, he would do it FOR them! What?!!
And that is where we are today as info-marketers, according to Dan-
The presenters, the speakers, the marketers, the sellers, everybody who is selling at least Biz Opps from the stage today, according to Dan, is not looking to make a mint then and there at the presentation, and they are not there to sell courses anymore per se- What they are there to sell now, and we see this proliferating more and more on sites like the Warrior Forum for example, is, simply, COACHING---
BUT, it doesn't stop there- Because what used to be coaching, isn't coaching anymore, BECAUSE, people don't really even want to be coached anymore- We can CALL it coaching, either to delude ourselves, or somehow pretend that we are not delegating all responsibility for our lives and well-being, actually our SURVIVAL to someone else... Nah, we'll just CALL it coaching-
But what is it really? What do you think they really want? Exactly- Everything today is DIFY - If you can offer someone DIFY - You will become rich-
THAT is the secret formula to becoming rich, at least in the Biz Opp info-marketing industry today- Let's just hope that it doesn't entirely cripple us and our entrepreneurially aggressive spirit in the process!
