mens sana in corpore sano
Brain nutrition plays an important... actually a significant factor in mental health!
Patrick Holford, the leading nutrition expert in England suggests that we 'feed our brains' with the following:
Multi vitamin & mineral tablets
Omega 3-6-9 fatty acids
Vitamine C
Phospholipids (the brain is made 80%+ of 'fat').
3-4L of pure alkalinized ionized water / day (the brain consumes 80% of the energy!)
Daily exercise (stretching + endurance + strength) helps greatly!
Also, there's a thing called "Methyl IQ" - the lower this methyl IQ is, the longer you live. Patrick Holford has a Methyl IQ of <4.3. Ideally it would be <7! >10 and premature old age sets!
There's also a nice book by Patrick on nutrition - check his website for more info!
Now we'll go a little on some of Gurdjieff & Ouspensky's wisdom:
The human body is like a factory. Like an oil plant.
You get intake of physical stuff (matter that you put in your mouth, 'food').
If you save that energy it can be converted into emotional energy.
If you save that energy it can be converted into mental energy (to power the high mental functions).
If you save that energy it can be converted into 'spiritual' energy (to power 'spiritual' functions).
A balance, an equilibrium must be found. We can use emotional energy to power us throughout the day, the mental energy to solve our day's problems and the 'spiritual' energy... well, to do 'spiritual' work. :)
I hope this quickie helped somebody!
So long story short, FEED YOUR BRAIN:
with quality air (breathe deeply and slowly. if you manage to breathe in 10 seconds, keep for 40 seconds then exhale for 20 seconds... you're the best in breathing!)
with quality food
with quality supplements
with quality water
with quality impressions (what impresses on your 5 senses - what do you see/hear/touch/smell/taste daily)... there are raw vegan people who watch porn (ridiculous example, I know!)... 'porn' is a negative visual impression... but watching a sunset or the ocean waves or a flower blossoming, well, that's a positive visual impression!
